EZEMO RECEIVES EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP AWARD ...as he launches the 'back to school' Campaign.


The Leadership and Role Model Foundation of Nigeria recently endowed Mr Godwin Chukwunenye Ezemo with an Exemplary Leadership and Role Model award at the Orient Daily News Agency Conference hall. The event was also used to officially launch the 'Back To School' Campaign spearheaded by Mr Godwin Ezemo.
Speaking during the event on reception of the certificate and plaque of award, Mr Ezemo, Achi n'agbara oha, expressed his happiness for the award and wondered aloud how the organisation was able to spot him out in the remote village where he resides -Umuchu. Mr Godwin Ezemo enjoined the organisation to seek out others like him in ANAMBRA who are also in one way or the other, making great contributions towards the improvement of the status quo of the society. Hr decried the deplorable state of the ANAMBRA educational system citing the structures put up for the ANAMBRA state kids as befitting prisoners only. Mr Ezemo referred to the 'Back to School' campaign as his own contribution to the effort to improve upon the standard of education in the state as well as make it possible for those who are less privileged to have access to basic education.
Earlier during the event, Mr Uche Agor, a Leadership and Role Model Foundation official narrated how he was moved to tears at the almost superhuman philanthropy he encountered when he came to make inquiries about the awardee at his hometown -Umuchu. Mr Uche said he knew how hard it was to give out one's hard earned resource to another and was quite impressed with the magnitude of giving spirit expressed by Godwin Ezemo. He said the reason for the award was to encourage Mr Ezemo's humanitarian services and boundless love for the less privileged in the society. He encouraged all and sundry to emulate the spirit of philanthropy in Ezemo and expressed the foundation's board of trustees Chairman - Alhaji Ahmad Yakubu's regrets for his absence at the recognition ceremony of so great a collosus - Mr Godwin Ezemo.
The ANAMBRA state Chairman of Progressive People's Alliance (PPA) Chief McPius Aneke also spoke in glowing terms about the award recipient who also happens to be the Leader of the party in the state. He described Mr Godwin Ezemo as a very dynamic man who believes that to live in peace, one must work peace. He described the kind of politics practiced in Nigeria as Shenanigan, Subterfuge and Sophistry and said that it is people like the award recipient that can cause a turn around to the situation. In his words, 'if Ezemo was at the helm of affairs, there wouldn't have been anything like Boko Haram.'
The NUJ ANAMBRA state chairman Comrade Henry Nwanosike represented by his Vice, Comrade Okechukwu Obenta described Mr Ezemo as second only to God Almighty in the hearts of NUJ ANAMBRA state chapter. He said the award was well deserved and that NUJ remains ever indebted to the unassuming Mr Ezemo for providing shelter for journalists in ANAMBRA amongst many other things.
The state chairman of Correspondent chapel, Comrade Emma Ndokubo narrated his first contact with Mr Ezemo during the gubernatorial election and how the first impression the awardee made on him made him decide he was a man to identify with in his profession. He congratulated Mr Ezemo for the award.
Mr Abuchi Onwumelu, Mr Raymond Ozoji and Mrs Joy Mbachi as well as the General Manager of Orient Daily News Agency kept the attendees entertained as the event flowed through to a successful end.
