A polytechnic principal lecturer, Mr Ejikeme Romanus has just
been confirmed as a commissioner by the Anambra State House of Assembly, as recommended by the executive governor, Dr Willie Obiano, in a letter read by the Honourable Speaker, Honourable Chinwe Nwaebili.
This was after a session of cross examination of Mr Romanus Ejikeme who was present. Mr Ejikeme revealed that he had held several administrative positions as a lecturer including the position of the Chairman of all academic matters in federal Polytechnic, Oko.. Honourable Chukwudi Orizu
asked him if he is a member of any political party. He said he was a member of APGA. Hon. Romanus Ugochukwu representing Orumba North, observed some after being welcomed as commissioners start to behave like emperors, how
he would behave. He pledged loyalty. Honorable Victor Jideofor representing Anambra West asked after his criminal history. The lecturer said he
has never been convicted and will never be because he was a man of honor. Hon. John Olibie
representing Dunukofia asked how he would be relating with those that belong with his
political party and other political parties, will there be disparity. He replied he would find avenues
to cement relationship between the parties. The Honourable Speaker asked that the house moves for reversion of the house. The majority leader
moved a motion for the reversion of the house and Hon. John Olibie seconded.
Going back to her seat, she thanked the house
members for their participation and expressed hope they were satisfied with his answers
and asked the majority leader to move motion for confirmation. He rose and did. Mr Ejikeme bowed out and the house moved on to other issue.
