NAIJA BLACKS OUT: JUSUN STRIKES!

The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Anambra State chapter has
embarked on an indefinite strike, as the state government has failed
to comply with their earlier demands.
JUSUN, it would be recalled just returned from strike about too weeks ago.

Although not yet publicized, our correspondent who visited the
judicial complex on friday reported that judicial workers were seen in
the complex working to and fro discussing the impending industrial
action.

Even the newly employed staffers of the establishment, who came for
posting to their respective offices, were disappointed, as undisclosed
authority announced that their posting which ought to commence on
Friday had been shifted for a third time.

One of the newly employed staff, who chose to remain anonymous, told
our reporter: “They said they can’t attain to us because the people
that are suppose to announce our postings are in a meeting somewhere
with the state government to either resolve the impending strike or
strategize towards implementing it fully.

“That is why they told us to go and return back on first June for
posting. My brother this posting is overdue, please I am appealing on
them to do something very quickly. I want to work. They said they have
employed us. Why not post us to our area of assignment? I am tired of
staying at home.”

Confirming the report of impending strike, the State Chief Registrar,
Bar. Mrs. Doris Ezeani, said the have received the notice of JUSUN
strike but decision would be taking after today’s meeting.

According to Ezeani, JUSUN was unhappy that till date their April
salaries among other emoluments were unpaid, even as the call for
financial autonomy as delivered by a federal high court and the MoU
signed with the state government since March 22nd 2015 has not been
implemented.

She, however, said that the legal luminaries would not be happy to
stay at home, been dutifully and ever ready to serve the masses.
